While our animal hospital is equipped with cutting-edge technology that has made dog and cat surgery much safer, there are still risks involved which we do our best to reduce by ensuring your pet’s health prior to performing surgery. All patients are required to receive a thorough physical examination and undergo a pre-anesthetic blood screening to check for any issues that may interfere with the anesthesia including clotting disorders, liver and kidney abnormalities and anemia. We will also place an IV catheter before surgery so we can deliver fluids to your pet throughout their procedure, as well as preserve their blood pressure and adequate hydration. Our team understands how worrisome it can be to hear your pet requires surgery, but rest assured at Animal Medical Center of Woodland Park, we take extra precaution to ensure your pet’s comfort and safety before, during, and after every surgical procedure at our hospital.
Aftercare Instructions
